1970 Dodge Challenger RT Panther Pink 500 Magnum FI 33,846 Miles FM3 Panther Pin

The first-generation Challengers were built from 1970 through 1974 and were intended to be the most potent pony car on the street.

Even though it was only offered in a hard top or convertible it was however offered in a staggering number of trim and option levels, it was also offered with pretty much every Chrysler engine that was available at that time with some of the wildest color schemes to date.

The performance model was the Challenger R/T with a 383 Cubic Inch V8 rated at 335 HP all the way up to the 440 Cubic Inch with a 6-pack carb set up with around 400 HP or 426 Hemi rated at 425HP.

This absolutely stunning show quality Challenger started life as what is believed to be a 383 4-speed but when the frame off restoration was started. It was created with a 400 Cubic Inch engine which was sourced and built for this car. The 400 block is lighter than a 440 and will help with handling. Indy’s 497-inch stroker kit goes a long way in the torque department. The crank is cut to fit the 400 block. Aluminum components were used wherever possible—Indy aluminum heads, MP water pump, MP M1 aluminum manifold (sent to Force Injection for the fuel injection conversion), accessory brackets and so much more.

Accel DFI with Force’s 1000 CFM throttle body, 10.9:1 compression, .474 lift MP cam, high volume oil pump with a 7-quart Moroso low profile pan. 31-inch Griffin radiator, Moroso water pump, 4 electric fans, The mill exhales through a TTI exhaust with 2-inch primaries and 3-inch Magnaflow mufflers. Gear changing takes place with the almighty Pistol Grip and gear changing takes place inside the confines of a Richmond 6-speed. Rear end is the ol’ Reliable 8-3/4 with 3.23 gears.

4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes, 17 inch Boyd Coddington Blasters, Underneath the subframes are tied with a custom made block that goes inside the subs and also wraps around the outside so there’s added rigidity. Magnum Performance tubular upper control arms and PST 1 -1/8t” front sway bar with urethane bushings work in harmony with the 7/8” rear bar for happy cornering. The body is mostly original and entirely rust free.

It has been colored with PPG FM3 “Panther Pink” with painted black stripes, partial black hood then loaded with tons of clear for a stunning shine.

The interior is enhanced with Ididit tilt steering column, super comfortable Pro-Street semi-race seats, wood grain dash, JL Audio Bluetooth stereo, vintage air, and the legendary pistol-grip shifter. The underside of this beast is fantastic, the interior is excellent as are all the gauges in working order.

This Panther Pink starts up every time and sounds incredible. Goes down the road as it should and gets plenty of attention. The chrome and bright work shine bright.
